HOW THERAPY WORKS
I’ll ask some questions, and will carefully listen to you and clarify the problems that are causing pain or trouble in your life. We’ll use the first few sessions getting to know one another--you expressing the help you are wanting, and my letting you know how therapy works to meet your goals. It may feel a little awkward sharing with a complete stranger. But, I will do my best to put you at ease. My office is warm and relaxing. Most clients are happily surprised that it feels like home.
I don’t want to keep you in therapy any longer than needed. We’ll establish short and long-term goals, and can revise them as we go along. I focus on achieving those goals in the best way possible. If you want faster, behavioral results, there is specific therapy for that. Or, if you want to “dig deeper” and process older, painful or confusing memories or situations, and take your time doing so, that is okay, as well.
Depending on your particular circumstances, we may meet...

Counseling services via Zoom. Although Zoom is a free service, it is not always the best method for counseling sessions. It is a temporary substitute for our regular sessions if you are out of town, sick, but still want to talk to me, or unable to leave your home.
One of my goals is to make my services the most available for you to get the care
you need.
